About Us - This is How Stained Glass Geek Started

Hey there people, welcome to my little corner of the internet, where the ancient art of stained glass gets a geeky twist! 

I'm Arjan Boeve, but you might know me better as the Stained Glass Geek. It all started in a shed next to an old farmhouse in Couesmes Vaucé, when I was living in Normandy, France back in 2016. I’ve always wanted to work with glass. So, I picked up my first glass cutter and thinking what kind of designs I want to work on. Gaming has always been my go-to pastime, so I thought why not bring those iconic video game characters to life in stained glass? Since then, I've been on a mission to dust off this ancient art form and give it a modern, geeky twist and to tie a new generation to this craft for it to survive.

 

Along the way, there have been bumps, but each one has been a stepping stone, shaping me into the artist I am today. I had some pretty awesome milestones too. One of the highlights was being commissioned by Disney for Mickey Mouse's 90th birthday celebration. How cool is that? Today, my journey has evolved into something truly remarkable. I proudly run a website featuring over 200+ unique stained glass patterns and art pieces, teaching an online class through Class 101, and operate a spacious new workshop. Spanning two floors, each with 60 square meters of creative space, giving me the freedom to take on larger-scale projects and exciting collaborations with brands and galleries.

 

I've spent years perfecting my craft, experimenting with techniques, and pushing the boundaries of what stained glass art can be, other than the well-known church windows or classic Tiffany lampshades. Going forward, I want to be your go-to guy for all things geeky in stained glass, be it a custom piece you've been dreaming of or one of my ready-to-buy designs, I am here to bring a little more colour and a lot more fun to this community.
